Wag got through to us, Daisy. Thanks for reporting. Looks like that issue is settled.
I am still unable to answer an question with 0 answers, so that's still an issue. I don't think AC is reading this thread anymore as there's been no response over a week to this. Alas.

Just now first time I logged in this morning, I was able to get into 1 post with 0 responses -- after first being unable to get into the very first one I clicked on, and then not again after 1 success. Again, seems totally random or depends upon some variable that we are unaware of.

ADMINS;
IS ANYONE READING THIS IN ADMINISTRATION/ IT'S OVER A WEEK THAT MANY OF US ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS WITH 0-RESPONSES.
COULD OTHERS PLEASE REPORT MY COMMENT HERE TO GET ADMINS TO RESPOND IN SOME WAY TO US?

Repeatedly posting here is not guaranteed to get noticed, they said at the beginning this thread isn't monitored.... IMO it's mostly just a way to check whether others are having the same issues.
If you really want a response contact AgingCare directly through the Contact Us link, or try contacting the mods at

I just emailed them because of 3 that just came up.

cwillie, thanks for that link and I did just write the admins on it.
Sad to see at least six questions with no responses now sinking to page two not because no one wants to respond but because no one CAN respond.
As to the "contact us" link......I have tried that several times about several issues and never heard a thing back.
Today I started reporting our links about this issue, as reporting does seem to get things at least looked at.
Meanwhile, good luck to anyone with any question for us, hee hee.

Admins, just this morning I was able to get into most posts with 0 responses but not this one: Hope/advice for a 90-something year old who will get hip repair surgery?"

Geaton777, I believe we've solved the issue for that specific post. However, we are still in the process of resolving the larger issue causing these issues across the forum.

The AgingCare team will continue to update here as we have more information. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this technical issue.

AgingCare Team

I was getting 503 errors yesterday but I haven't had any trouble

Yes, I did have problems yesterday, and was getting exactly what cwillie was, the "503errors" message, so it was apparently a site problem. Hopefully you are getting in today Lealonnie? I am not having a problem today.

I was having trouble yesterday with error messages. Today is OK.
Geaton has not been able to log in since Monday. 😕

Tech team; what's up with this onslaught of spam?

Is our data protected? This site doesn't inspire confidence right now.
(4)

If they don't have teams working 24/7 on this they're in danger of losing this forum, many others were spammed to death back in the early days

It will be spam bots not real people, once they find an opening they'll just keep coming

That's my fear Geaton. The forum is clearly no longer what the original creators designed or wanted it to be, it's become a strictly profit driven arm of APFM and the only reason it's still here is because it presumably draws in more revenue than it costs.

Hi all,

The AgingCare team is aware of the recent increase in spam posts. The moderators are doing their best to keep the forum running smoothly while the tech team investigates this issue and works to improve our spam filters. Thank you for your patience, for reporting suspicious posts, and for helping keep this community safe and supportive.

I am hoping you are wrong, and suspecting you are correct.
Recently we were sent a questionnaire by APFM asking if it would make a difference to us if the Forum was named A Place For Mom.
Don't know about for us, but would for the trust of the public at large, and I think would spell doom for what has been such a great source for information.

I don't at all resent APFM advertising and using the Forum, and I think they don't weigh in overmuch for themselves. BUT if it becomes merely an arm of a for profit business it will lose the trust of many, I fear, no matter we try to answer questions.

As this spam/hack issue seems to be getting worse, perhaps it may be best that Aging Care shuts down this forum completely until this issue is resolved, as it has now gotten WAY beyond annoying and making me personally not want to come here anymore.
(6)
Report

I am not coming here anymore until the spam issue is resolved, this is ridiculous, this site is way beyond the times from a functional standpoint. No reply button on posts that are replies, no report button on spam/scam posts and so much more.

If need be hire someone to get this straightened out.

I think the fact that Alaska Airlines was completely grounded yesterday for about three hours due to hackers, we can understand that this is a serious problem, and one getting worse. Sorry this is such a persistent hack and it is now 7/21 with AC already in cleaning up the floors from constant posts.

I too hope that the site can be saved, but looks like this is pretty serious.

Hi all,

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback about how the forum is being managed. We’ve heard from some community members that there may be concerns, and we want you to know that we’re listening closely and taking your input seriously.

We’re working swiftly and proactively to eliminate spam and exploring ways to improve moderation so the forum remains a safe, welcoming space for all. Our goal has always been to maintain the AgingCare forum as a supportive, respectful, and unbiased place where caregivers can connect and find real community — and we remain committed to that goal.

Thank you to those who participated in the recent survey. Your responses are helping us understand what’s working and where we need to improve. We truly appreciate your continued engagement.

Thanks for listening, AC! This a.m. the site is clear; nice not having to wade through the scammers to get to the questions.
I love the Forum, and have for years, but would love to know there is someone reading daily the new questions. There aren't all that many, and it would so clear the decks of some things that are clearly just junk. When the silly stuff is just too silly it makes the regulars believe there's no shepherd on this flock.

As to that survey?
Please don't change the name to A Place for Mom.
People everywhere are familiar with APFM. And we often mention it when recommending it to others. We usually say why we recommend it, when we don't, and why. I think APFM already does benefit from those times we recommend such a service. But I think that the public in general, having a Forum NAMED APFM, would be more suspicious of any advice, thinking that all replying to their questions were merely shills for the service. I think it would make the public in general LESS likely to reach out to you or to respect our advice, not MORE likely. But that's just me...................

I hope AC continues to thrive; I hope there's more oversight in general. Again, thanks.
