Find Care & Housing
Thank you Pamzimmrt!

And God Bless you also for your love of Cats!

I have seen shelters online that have a tunnel access to/from the shelter via a window in the houses. So very cool.

That way, even the house Cats can safely spend time outside.

A friend of mine fashioned cat shelters from the very large containers that kitty litter comes in. This was at an animal rescue facility. He somehow fastened them to fence posts in a fenced area at the rescue place, and he positioned them a foot or two off the ground.

I only saw pictures, not the real thing. It seems to me that this would be a good way to provide safe housing for feral colonies in the woods. The containers could be attached to the trees, not far up the trunk. It would also work for pets in a person's yard where there are trees.

I am a 60-year-old man, and I am my 83-year-old mother's primary caregiver. We share a cat and the cat brings so much happiness to both of us. Peace.

Are there any updates about your cats and dogs?

I have been watching Pets Available at the shelters, even knowing I could no longer have a cat or dog. There was only one with the cutest expression, but not even a breed I ever considered. One out of hundreds. Only a puppy.

The shelters are full right now due to weather disasters across the nation.

Has anyone considered getting a pet lately?

I talked with a nurse who worked in a nursing home. She told me that they had a “resident” cat that would always go lay on the foot of the bed when someone was dying. The cat would just lie there and keep vigilant watch. She said they could always tell it was close to the end by watching the cat.
