Our loved ones have suffered to much we need to speak up. Please join the national long term care reform walk on September 27 2026 and help shine a light on the truth about our loved ones suffering in long term care. I'm leading a walk in NY. Anyone anywhere can join and lead their own walk in their state. Please join the team.
Apparently it’s linked to a documentary about long term care (“No Country for Old People”) created by a woman about her mother’s terrible experience in a nursing home. The short trailer for the documentary is available to view and seems to be about financial mismanagement by owners of facilities and how it results in direct harm to residents. That’s a worthy subject but the website itself seems kind of short on specifics about what the organization wants to do with the funds it’s soliciting aside from organizing this walk and, as they say, “embracing the power of storytelling to engage and mobilize the public.”
Those who are suffering are caregivers like me who have cared for multiple family members over a number of years. WE DON’T HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO WALK ANYWHERE FOR A CAUSE THAT SEEMS NOT TO EXIST.
If you ever want to discuss with us a real cause, such as the millions of exhausted caregivers worldwide who need help, come back and we’ll talk.
What is the suffering in LTC that you are concerned about? What is the "truth" about LTC?
My MIL was in an excellent faith-based, non-profit LTC facility on Medicaid for 7 years and she got way better care than I could ever have given her in our home.
