Our loved ones have suffered to much we need to speak up. Please join the national long term care reform walk on September 27 2026 and help shine a light on the truth about our loved ones suffering in long term care. I'm leading a walk in NY. Anyone anywhere can join and lead their own walk in their state. Please join the team.

The website isn’t valid. What reforms are you advocating for?

I googled a bit and came up with the website. It is https://www.roar4ltc.org/

Apparently it’s linked to a documentary about long term care (“No Country for Old People”) created by a woman about her mother’s terrible experience in a nursing home. The short trailer for the documentary is available to view and seems to be about financial mismanagement by owners of facilities and how it results in direct harm to residents. That’s a worthy subject but the website itself seems kind of short on specifics about what the organization wants to do with the funds it’s soliciting aside from organizing this walk and, as they say, “embracing the power of storytelling to engage and mobilize the public.”

The website doesn't exist. My mother was in Memory Care for 3 years and received excellent care from a team of people who truly cared about her. If my loved one was "suffering in long term care" you bet I'd get them OUT of there in a New York minute. There is no excuse to stand by and watch such "suffering" so I'm not sure what you're even talking about.

I am a caregiver for my dear husband who is presently in long-term care in a facility where he gets excellent care. I’m there helping him almost daily. I’ve also been a hands-on caregiver for both parents and another relative. I have no idea what you mean by those “suffering” in long-term care.

Those who are suffering are caregivers like me who have cared for multiple family members over a number of years. WE DON’T HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO WALK ANYWHERE FOR A CAUSE THAT SEEMS NOT TO EXIST.

If you ever want to discuss with us a real cause, such as the millions of exhausted caregivers worldwide who need help, come back and we’ll talk.

The website you posted does not exist as you have written it.

What is the suffering in LTC that you are concerned about? What is the "truth" about LTC?

My MIL was in an excellent faith-based, non-profit LTC facility on Medicaid for 7 years and she got way better care than I could ever have given her in our home.
