I'm tired of cooking/preparing 3 meals a day. It's just the two of us but boy oh boy can that woman eat!! She stays slimish, I get fattish. It's bad enough I do everything here much less start making her one thing and me the other. At times I feel guilty when I buy her fast food cuz of the nutritional value....not to mention I eat it too.
I hope that it will as a nice a Christmas next year for everyone, or if possible even better!
Now I’m glad I chose the room in the AL facility where he can see a semi busy street.
Years ago I embroidered a sampler with the words ‘Dust is a protective covering for furniture’. I gave it to my sister bc I never thought I’d need it. Hah - the joke’s on me!
My tree is still up, house gathering dust, trying not to get husband sick, dried out from meds just feel like overall poop.
Lots to be grateful for but this thread is for whining so I'm gonna whine.
CM7 - welcome - pizza because you're tired is fine!!! We all need breaks. If you fill out your profile we'll have a better idea of what you are dealing with and can answer you more appropriately
I'm blown away by the Education Act. There is very little on teacher's responsibilities -even one section that was labelled that in the index is missing from the body of the document. Makes me wonder. I guess I will follow that up with the Ministry of Education.
Properly fitted anti embolism stockings are recommended especially for long flights . As is proper hydration , not crossing your legs . Pumping your feet while sitting to keep blood flowing too .
I also asked my doc about low dose aspirin daily and have taken that starting a few days before a long flight and continued until I returned home .
Yoda, careful with the stockings. If you can get to medical supply store do that as they are great at correct measurements. You are absolutely RIGHT about not folding them down as they act then as a garter, restricting flow, which can cause clotting. Not used properly they are worse than nothing and better just to get those legs elevated above the heart.
The clips continue to do well when putting on this open to compression socks.
However, I have found that if I let the heal of the sock go completely to my heal, it goes up too high on my lower legs. Man, they must be short. As it says online, don't fold the top of compression socks down. So, the aid that I have to put each sock on with catches the end of the sock out in front. The heal of the sock ends up under the arch of my foot and the socks is completely on at a safe level below my knee. What do I do with what is out front with the clip on it. After taking the clip off, I then fold that part of the sock back onto the front of my foot but below my toes. It is an open toe sock.
Thanks again for the help. It's just taken some experimenting to get this right. ha, ha, I just caught the error of spelling right as write. Happy New Year!
Reading books till midnight sometimes as well. so great I can get any book on my reader in seconds, although prefer actual book.
I hope you feeling better, I rely on good tea with honey and lemon, Tylanol and propolis when I start feeling sick. Usually it works. I hope you are feeling better. I had cold for a few days as well.
But my husband was out of hospital yesterday and ended up in hospital tonight again. For now he is sleeping. Will talk to doctor tomorrow, but they are going to admit him again!
Psue - thinking of you and yours and what you are going through these days. Lots of endings that aren't easy to process. I remember how I felt as I packed up mother's stuff for her move from a two bedroom unit to a one room accommodation. I can't imagine how hard it is for you doing that for your beloved husband. I am glad DD is there to help
Eva - I know you are going through lot too with your hub and I imagine the possibility of a move for him is in the air. I don't sleep well either and am up reading in the middle of the night. Thank goodness for computer games and good books. I'm sorry you are not getting more answers from the hospital staff.
Felt like I was coming down with something the past few days - cold, tired, slept a lot in the daytime, little bit of a sore throat, but took my Cold FX and sinus meds and rested and feel much better tonight. Hope i am getting over it, whatever it was.
Vent away! I don’t sleep well lately so sometimes I read late or early morning.
It is going to be tough. No doubt.
This too shall pass.
A week + of organizing and doctor visits and moving is going to take most of my focus and energy. DD made me spreadsheets yesterday to help keep me on track if you can believe it!
After that the really hard part - walking away and leaving DH that first night (and every night forever after). This once dynamic and independent man has become so dependent on me the last couple years, he doesn’t even know what he can’t do himself anymore. It’s going to be really hard for him to adjust to asking strangers for help. Good grief, I’m crying again - I’m glad he’s taking a nap!
Anyway, thank you all for your support. Know that I am reading your posts and thinking about you all.
No plan, one scan of lower back, not even one specialist to see him. Just see family doctor.
How awful! I think you are right to peruse Education Act, go to the top. To say that to a child without definitive proof is not right!
Nacy, I hear you, don’t like clingy men. Would drive me crazy.
I need me time.
Husband out of hospital, nothing can be done. Just prescribed morphine for pain. Will sleep for days now as after 9 days in hospital and constant noises did not sleep well.
nacy - glad hubby is doing and looking better, Hope you get some "me time" soon.
way and psue - don't overdo anything. Both of you have a lot on your plate and it's easy to push oneself past a point.
R looks in pain this morning but has gone out to see a friend who is in town for the holidays. I hope he has a relaxing time. I think stress is part of his headaches. The "grandson and water therapy" was really good for him. I'm in the "recover from a holiday" mode.
Golden, that poor, poor child. What an awful situation. That person should not be teaching. Even an 8 year old kid who DID cheat does not deserve to be ruined for it. So wrong.
Sorry your Christmas has been so crazy and that you have had all this extra work for your dd. I gather you are not unhappy about the break up. Good for you minding your own business. It's not always easy. Hopefully the new year will be more peaceful.
Hi , yeah thanks . Hopefully I don’t get sick and bring it home .
MIL is laying real low . DH has called and it’s been superficial quick discussions and she gets off the phone because she doesn’t want to hear that she needs to leave her two story condo that also has sidewalk steps outside to the parking lot where she keeps falling . Right now , I could care less…..for the reason below .
Christmas , well, it’s been a bit crazy here . My DD and her fiancé broke up . Daughter is back home with us for now , we’ve been moving her things back home as well . Good thing we have a big basement . Long story . I sort of saw it coming the last few months , minded my own business and just watched it unfold .
We get there and she’s coughing sick . Nephew talked to staff , who said RSV is going around the board and care home ( of 15 residents ) .
If I knew that , I would not have gone in today ( I have asthma ) . A warning sign on the outer entrance door to the building would have been nice .
Psue - these two grandsons are 12 and 8. Lots of energy! R was the one keeping up with them in the pool and the waterslides. Their mom and I just chatted in the hot tub. They came everyday and spent hours in the pool. I popped in and out. It was a success and we'll do it again, The youngest one needs prayer. His teacher is a battle axe and has accused him of cheating which he didn't and more The principal is no help. Poor K now hates school and cries every morning he has to go. He has lost his self confidence and is a very sad and angry child. My heart is breaking for him.
When we got home yesterday, I found two catalpa seedings covered in aphids and one dead. I haven't had aphids since I can remember. I am applying soap spray but they don't look good.
I’m rooting for your DH to be successful. The good part (I’ve heard) is that the health benefits begin immediately.
Golden, your holiday sounds like so much fun but I bet you’re exhausted. How old are the nephews?
nacy - hope your hub is finally getting over covid and you got through all the festivities and had some down time too. It's important to be able to relax. Acceptance from family is important.
The hotel and waterpark were great. It's well run. The boys came to swim many times and had a blast. 🏊♂️ We will go back. No whines today,
Things here are chaotic. There are so many arrangements to be made I’m having a hard time keeping focused. I have to remind myself, daily, not to ‘pre-awfulize’. DD is coming up tomorrow to help me make lists and firm up the time line.
I’m glad to be almost through the holidays even though they were not really difficult. Might be harder to get through the dark days of January but at least I will be able to give DH my full attention now.
Again, I know nothing about your dynamic, but in our family, it’s strengthened our connection and the siblings have become more connected as well.
How was your Christmas?
