Hi EveryoneI. spoke with Alva's daughter Sue earlier today. She said every time she speaks to mom, she's sounding better and better! Last week she was cleaning the house!
Sue will be visiting in San Francisco on Weds this week and hopes to be able to call me so both she and Alva can speak to me! I hope so.
I've received 9 cards in the mail for Alva and will send them out on Monday. Sue said mom will be thrilled to see them.
I'll update again on Weds with more good news I hope.
Until then, keep the cards coming!
Love to all on Valentine's Day.
XOXOXO
Alva, if you get to read this, I am so glad you are doing better. I always appreciate your posts and will miss your wise advice and kind words. Thank you so much for taking the time through the years to educate us. You have truly set a wonderful example and are an inspiration to all.
My very best to you for a quick recovery. Hugs.
Thanks Lea.
I hope Alva at least reads the Internet and recalls the advice from other long timers in that proactively moving to a senior community near family might be worth consideration. She’s a recent stroke survivor, her mister has cognitive decline and they are octogenarians.
Her partner is losing his short term memory, she said, so the future looks unknown at the moment. Sue is coming to visit soon, thankfully.
Keep the cards coming and keep our friend in your thoughts and prayers.
I was in the bookstore today and found myself thinking about Alva’s posts on the book thread.
Glad to hear she’s been out to the library.
She sends love and thanks everyone for their cards.
Alva you are an inspiration!
biggest love to Alva over the airwaves xxx
Alva if you are lurking. Sending you big hugs and hoping you get your strength back. Miss you bunches!
Thank you Lea.
