Ty GG and cxmoody. My stepson DIL and 6 yo grandson came over yesterday and we ordered food from our favorite restaurant. We had a nice time. Suddenly I felt exhausted and realized I'd been up and about for 12 hours! From 8 am till 8 pm which hasn't happened this whole time. I even answered the door when they arrived! I was proud of my stamina yesterday.

I did get the PET scan results this morning via email and they do not look too good. I sent Dr C an email asking him to compare the scan photos from May and Friday and let me know bc I don't get to see photos, just read text. I think he's usually off on Mondays so we'll see 😑 I'm eager to hear what he thinks is going on. Please send prayers and good vibes my way.

Praying here, as you wait for your results!

What a sweet thing for Chuck’s donor to do! 😭

I am sooo glad to read about your big trip with no walker! Thank you, Lord, for small mercies! 🎉🎉💃🏻💃🏻

Gershun, a PET scan is different from a regular CT in that there is no holding of your breath involved. I think it's a different machine altogether, in fact. The bed is a lot narrower and has those "straight jacket" fabric flaps to Velcro your arms onto your body with.

Nhwm, my dizziness IS easing up some. I was able to walk to the car at the Kaiser facility w Chuck holding my hand, and again at home, from the car to the door w/o help! Albeit a bit rickety, but w/o help or a walker! This is progress thank GOD.

The PET scan results will be here on Monday.

The liver donors father sent Chuck an email yesterday with photos of his family and his Facebook page with a tribute/obituary to his 14 yo son. A beautiful read, and eloquent. His son was hit by a car while mountain biking in Arizona and that's how he lost his life, on the same day Chuck was transplanted, April 29th. Such a sad and uplifting story at the same time.

Yes, CT scans. That annoying "Hold your breath, now breathe" Why is it when someone tells you to hold your breath all you immediately can think about is wanting to breathe.

Wishing you Godspeed Lea!

Thinking of you this weekend as you await results. Hope you're able to do something enjoyable and distracting this weekend--even if it's only some light movies.

Lea,

Is your dizziness easing up? Are you able to walk a little better? Have you done more laps around your house?

The results won't come in till Monday, phew. Scanxiety indeed. It doesn't help that it's like a straight jacket either..... you put your arms over your chest and get strapped in with large folds of velcro fabric before you're loaded into the CT tunnel for 35 min.

In the cancer world they call the anxiety around a scan "scanxiety"

We are all standing by you through this.

I am reminded of the classic tune, Stand By Me, performed by Ben E King. (1961)

When the night has come

And the land is dark

And the moon is the only light that we’ll see

No, I won’t be afraid

Oh, I won’t be afraid

Just as long as you stand by me

So, darlin’, darlin’, stand by me

Oh, stand by me

Oh, stand

Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon

Should tumble and fall

Or the mountain should crumble to the sea

I won’t cry, I won’t cry

No, I won’t shed a tear

Just as long as you stand

Stand by me

And darlin’, darlin’ stand by me

Stand by me

Oh, stand now

Stand by me, stand by me

And darlin’, darlin’ stand by me

Stand by me

Oh, stand now

Stand by me, stand by me

Whenever you’re in trouble won’t you stand by me

Oh, stand by me

Won’t you stand by me

Lea,

I can’t imagine how unnerving that would be, to continue to wait for test results over and over again for something so serious.

You’re absolutely right that it is in God’s hands.

As always, I will pray along with you for the best outcome.

Sending many hugs your way today!

I'm sitting in the little room at Kaiser where I've had my IV of glucose in prep for my PET scan in 45 minutes. I feel a bit nervous to see the results which will come to my email in text form only. The results are hard to decipher and since it'll be late afternoon, I likely won't hear from Dr C till Tues bc he's normally off on Mondays 🙄. It's kind of awful having these scans every 3 months and wondering if a shoe will drop, especially that I can't have any treatments. What a way to live. In addition to the dizziness and loud ringing in my ears, etc. Not to mention pure white eyelashes which make me look other-worldly.

Oh well. At least I wasn't a basket case this morning which makes me SUPER dizzy and feeling horrible from stress. I'll leave it in God's hands and pray for the best.

LL, yay for you! My mental picture of your laps made me think of a hermit crab my son had as a kid that had a Lexus logo painted on its shell. You’re off to the races!

So today I walked 3 laps in my hallway for the first time EVER! I was fine afterward too. Saturday is 4 weeks I'll be off prednisone completely. I never did start the 10mgs Dr C had recommended.

Friday is my PET scan. Praying for a clean one like last time in May.
