As part of our mission to serve our communities, Visiting Care Plus provides services to recipients of some state- and federally-funded programs, including the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG), Medicaid Waiver and CHOICE. To access these services, individuals must first apply with the Southwestern Indiana Regional Council on Aging (SWIRCA & More) to determine eligibility. If approved, individuals may then select Visiting Care Plus to provide the services according to the regulations set by the funding program's requirements. SWIRCA & More oversees all case management functions for these customers. Services include: CareLink Medical Alert Service, Attendant Care, Homemaking. It is the policy of Visiting Care Plus to treat all customers without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, disease process, or disability. Customers are assigned without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, disease process, or disability. There is no distinction in the eligibility for, or in the manner of providing any customer service provided by the Agency or others. All agency services are available without distinction to all customers and visitors regardless of race, color, national origin, disease process, or disability.
In 2023, the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) allocated additional Funding to assist Home and Community Based Providers with Recruitment and Retention of Caregivers. Visiting Care Plus was very fortunate to receive this additional funding to assist with our Recruitment and Retention efforts. Visiting Care Plus utilized 100% of the funding received from the Family and Social Services Administration for Incentive Bonuses to New Hires, Gas Allowances for caregivers, Gift Cards to staff, Uniforms, and a Bonus Check paid to staff based on the hours they worked during the first five months in 2023. We will continue to explore all opportunities available to Agencies to assist in the Recruitment and Retention of Caregivers to allow us to provide exceptional care to our clients.
