Some of this depends on your definition of better health and expectations. Anyone with frail health is unlikely to adapt well to life post amputation. It’s a lot on a healthier, younger person. Is the feeding tube considered temporary for recovery or permanent? That’s another huge issue to adapt to. Please discuss this with the doctor and ask for realistic ideas on what to expect. I’m sorry you’re in this place

Frankly no. They have a feeding tube PLUS no foot. I doubt they ever walk again effectively.
