Hi Victoria9,

AgingCare does not extend job offers or hire employees in that way. It sounds like you may have fallen victim to a job scam.

Here is a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) article on job scams, how to avoid them, and how to report them: https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/job-scams

Best of luck to you.

I know with the nurses I worked for, fingerprinting was up to them to pay for and that was $70. A Nursing license needs to be up to date and the Nurse pays for that. My daughter was required to wear a certain color and brand of scrub and she paid for them.

Are you an aide? If so, are you certified thru the State? Are you being asked to take a certification that you need to pay for but tgey will train u? This IS unusual to be asked to fork over money after being hired. Employment agencies used to do this type of thing, you paid for them to help u find a job.

A care home is supposed to offer YOU money after giving you employment, not ASK you to give THEM money.

I have really no idea of what you are talking about, and hope you can give us details so we can attempt to understand your question.
RR is correct in that you may be asked to submit to fingerprint and background checks for certain jobs and you may be required to pay for same whether hired or not.

If someone offers you a job and then asks for money from you, run. It is a waving red flag that something is wrong.

Typically, any job requiring pre-screening or certification, such as level one fingerprint clearance will send you to those agencies that perform those items and you would pay directly for them.
