My mom finished her antibiotics (Cephalexin 2x 500 mg a day for 7 days) Thursday night. She was doing much better from the confusion she had been having for a bacterial infection and was almost back to her self.
She got out of bed today and is having bad lower back pain and she winces in pain while trying to walk. She can crawl to her chair and feels fine crawling. She was fine yesterday although her back had been bothering her a bit since she started taking the antibiotics but not like it is today. A hot bath would make her back feel better.
Does this sound like muscle pain (she's taking Nature's Bounty Probiotic 10 now along with 1 Diltiazem a day along with electrolyte powder in the morning). Could she still have the infection? Could it be a kidney infection?

Find Care & Housing
Agree that she should go to urgent care or the ER. Do you have a foldable wheelchair to transport her? If not it might be good for you to get one to take her since she may have future mobility episodes. I hope you get an answer quickly and that it's something easily treatable.

Crawling is not a good sign nor is it good for her to be crawling. She needs to go the the hospital. Hopefully it is muscle strain but it needs to be addressed immediately. Prayers to both of you.

I asked her earlier if she wanted to go have it checked but she doesn't. She feels better when she's in her chair which is where she is now. I hurt my back several months ago and had the same symptoms but it went away. Mine was severe muscle strain.

I just asked her if she thinks it's muscular and she said she thinks it is. She's asking for aspirin but what is best for muscle pain? Tylenol or Advil? She doesn't want to go to the urgent care right now. She wants to try heat/ice and some meds first. I'll have to run to the grocery store to get some meds to see if it helps.
