We had a lovely dinner. Relaxed for about an hour. I was in the other room when my husband came in upset. I asked him what happened. He said when he was making 2 of many bottles of water, he took out a dish and proceeded to make breakfast. After he had completed his preparation, he realized that he had just eaten dinner and it was not morning.

Food seems to be an obsession with my mom. She no longer finishes breakfast when she asks if we got the groceries and if we have anything for lunch; the same for dinner. She will say I'm starving, then when I make her something to eat she says she's not a bit hungry.

Yes, it has happens to my husband quite often. He'll get some crackers instead of making himself a sandwich. Not much a person can do.

It is not at all unusual for people with dementia to get totally confused about time of day. My Dad has mild to moderate dementia and he has done similar things on occasion.

Goggle MEMORY CLOCKS. I got Dad one about a year ago and he loves it. It spells out the time, day, month and year in big digital letters and tells if it's am or pm. If the dementia is not too advanced these clocks can really help.

Maybe he was sundowning and was confused for a while? But he did later remember it wasn't morning, so he was able to recover his focus.

I don't really have any other suggestions.
