Find Care & Housing
If the doctor was not a Neurologist maybe that is where you should start.

Mom needs a good physical. There could be other problems besides Dementia. Low Potassium. Dehydration, onset diabetes, Thyroid can cause a number of things. She needs labs and urine test to rule these out and a UTI.

I am caring for my father who has dementia and it has been increasingly difficult to deal with his mood swings. I was told he has age related dementia with signs of vascular dementia and they will be testing him soon for Parkinson's. I am completely overwhelmed right now. One minute he is fine and the next he is not. I have some help from my sister and brother but my brother is Autistic and my sister has some developmental disabilities but they are able to help me. I too feel sad, angry, frustrated, stressed...my blood pressure is through the roof! I don't feel like I can talk to other family members because all they want me to do it put him in a home. For me that is not an option. I can't do that to him. My mother has been in the hopital almost 2 months and was finally moved to a post acute facility but we aren't sure she will be able to walk. I knew almost 8 years ago my dad was declining. No one listened to me and just brushed me off. This is exhausting but I don't have to tell you. I'm here if you want to talk. Stay strong! I'm trying to!

You are nice and understanding. Thank you! Just what I need.
My mom is functional still. I feel so bad because I get impatient and then I feel guilty. I am older and have lived on my own for a very very long time, so retiring AND moving in with her part-time was a BIG change. And due to the pandemic here where I live I am here full-time; good and bad. It's just super hard. Thank you for your understanding.
