I paid for their service and ended up not using it, so I canceled it. Then I find out months later that they billed me AGAIN. I called them and they told me that it is non-refundable. I didn't call them to restart it in the first place. This is a scam.

Can you send them the request in writing, like in an email? Call them, tell them to cancel it, and get the identifying information for whoever you talked with to cancel it. Ask if they have a transaction number you can refer to in the future, or a confirmation number for the cancellation. Retain that info.

Was this an ACH or was it on a debit card? The bank can help in certain cases, but they will tell you to work it out with the company first and if that fails, to call the bank.

A refund is cash. A credit on your card is something different. Ask for a CREDIT and then call your credit card company to dispute the charges. They've heard this before, trust me.

I had several "discussions" with a company who was charging me $29.99 a month for their service I was not using. I told them I wanted a refund which was against their policy, the guy kept saying. I finally called MasterCard who told me there were 2 CREDITS pending on my account which processed the next month. 🙄

I wasn't using the right wording, apparently, and the customer service rep wasn't playing with a full deck.....so that's what happened in my case.

I hope you get a satisfactory resolution.

If it was months later, as who authorized it to be reinstated because you didn't. Do you have an email or anything proving it was canceled or you tried to cancel?

If this is on a credit card, call them and tell them you did not reinstate the acct and they will not refund your money.

Lately, some dishonest companies state somewhere in VERY TINY PRINT that if you sign up to use their service once, you agree to be billed monthly on an ongoing basis. That's what happened to me. I was livid. I paid $1 to find out my IQ supposedly, on myiq.com, then found out I "agreed" to a monthly charge of $29.99 to keep using their service which includes a bunch of other "tests". Terribly sneaky business model.

The other one is if you buy a new laptop from a 3rd Party seller on Amazon. This voids the warranty! They tell you to call the company at a phone number. You do that, they say they're charging you $5 for the service to get the answers you need. Then they go ahead and keep charging you $20 a month! MasterCard actually called me to see if I'd signed up for that service, which I hadn't. That's how many people were duped into the $20 per month plan!

I looked on line and found many negative reviews of this company, both in terms of their invoicing policy and the quality of their drivers and their customer service. I won't ever be using them.

I was getting ready to sign up with them. I'm giving it a lot of second thoughts now.

Some services put you on "auto renew" as the default and you have to go into your account and change it manually or call to change or cancel. It's not a scam but a stupid way to do business as this just ruins their reputation and thus brand.

I have gotten refunds by threatening to give a flaming review on this forum and Nextdoor.com, Reddit, and any other platform.

The OP probably paid with a credit card so the bank is not going to be able to do anything. Even if the OP reported it to their CC, they would have their account shut down IF they the vendor is actually a scam, but it's not. It is an actual legitimate business. It will die on its own because of how poorly their customer service is performed. This isn't the first time we've seen complaints about them on this forum.
