My council on aging is a joke. I seriously doubt it they could help anyone. They do meals on wheels and have daily meals and that's about all. They have a huge turnover in staff and directors and pay very little with no benefits.

jeanette, contact your county agency on aging for programs such as Case Management, Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, housing, care referrals, etc,... go to the website link below.... click on your State.... now click on the city/county. https://www.agingcare.com/local/Area-Agency-on-Aging

I see by your profile you are only 56, so I don't know if you would be considered an aging person.

My husband and I have to do the laundry together, as best we are able. It is not always ideal.

When my sister was earning soc. sec. disability, she was able to get a little household help. But, that is all that I have heard of.

It's unlikely. Medicare will pay for in home care after hospital, stays, rehab etc but I dontbthink it will cover basic chores. Check with your local commission on aging or senior services in your area.
