Find Care & Housing
This is the type question only you or you with your doctor's help can answer. No one here knows his history or his ability to care for himself safely. If you have concerns what may happen... that provides your answer. A medical alert only works as good as the person wearing it and only summons help if it is pushed or if it has a feature to alert to falls. If you are concerned about a possible heart attack.... that can happen while sitting or laying down.

Get a fall alert pendant. If he falls someone will be notified and an ambulance dispatched if necessary.

I would consider someone comping in a few times for companionship from one of the many services like Care.com. Maybe they could make him a few meals, or do a load of laundry for him, as well as keep him from being lonely.

Best of luck to you both

Ask your husband’s doctor about the medical situation. It’s best not to, but at least have a family member or a friend call and check with him daily on his condition.

Can he take his own meds? Is someone going to look in on him?

I know lots of folks that have a-fib and live alone, so not sure what the concern would be there, and high blood pressure is sadly very common as well. Is your husband smart enough to call someone if he gets to feeling poorly? And could you not have family members or neighbors at least check on him periodically just to be safe?
Only you know your husband well enough and his health issues, and whether or not you'd truly be comfortable leaving him home, so it's really up to you.
But let me ask you...would you be able to live with yourself if God forbid something bad were to happen to him while you were away?
Therein may lie your answer.
