Also do you all drive people to errands they may have to do? It is just too much for my husband who's rarely home. And Amy personal care as well. Thank you, Carolyn .

As suggested, call your Office of Aging to see what resources they provide. My County one offers a Senior Bus to take you shopping and to appts. If you can afford it, hire a HHA (Home Health Aide). They do light housekeeping and some cooking. They can also assist you in bathing and other things. Help you run errands and shopping. If you want deep cleaning, you need to hire someone.

You may want to check out an Adult Daycare. It would give you some socialization. Moms served breakfast and lunch. Picked Mom up and dropped her off. Even showered her for me. She had some PT too.

You can look up whether your city/county has Meals on Wheels and whether you qualify.

Also check for senior transportation. It might be available for essentials such as medical appointments. For other errands, you can order most things online.

Have you and your husband considered moving to Assisted Living together? You could get help with your personal needs, dressing, housekeeping, meals, and transportation, plus scheduled shopping trips and other outings.

Press the Find Care tab on top of this page and follow the directions. Someone from A Place For Mom will contact you shortly and let you know if they provide such services.

Hi Carolyn, this isn't a hiring forum but I recommend you contact your local Area Agency on Aging for lots of information and resources.

If you belong to a church or other faith-based organization you might want to post a ISO ("in search of") a companion aid to perform your light errands and transportation. Never hire someone privately that you don't know very well.
