Has anyone set one of these up on behalf of a parent? My father is not able to set it up and I would have to do this because I would like to monitor deadlines. He gets so many Medicaid renewals and I'd like to see where we are in the process.
I don't want to do something that can come back and bite me so if anyone has done this for a parent, I'd love to hear about it.

Find Care & Housing
That makes sense.

Since Mom passed 3 months after receiving Medicaid, I did not have to renew. But I was under the impression that renewal is only once a year. My nephew receives Medicaid for health and renews once a year. He receives a packet in the mail about a month or two before its due.

Are you applying for Medicaid LTC? Or are you allowing the NH to do this? In my State the deadline us 90 days from application. I was lucky, Mom kept all her Bank Statements back 5 years. I was given a list of documents needed. I started the application in Mid April. Mom private paid May and June. I proved in June she had spent down and that the caseworker had all the documents needed. I got a letter shortly after that Medicaid would be starting July 1st.

I don't understand why Dad is getting so many Medicaid renewals.

This is his third. He has Medicaid LTC. He had the annual one earlier this year, then in April when my mother entered the nursing home under Medicaid and was no longer the community spouse, and the September one because she died and left an estate. It never ends. It is nerve wracking. This is because there is a house involved.
