Find Care & Housing
He has Dementia, and can still do many things such as mowing, and most yard work.
He tells stories over and over, the same ones, talks of the past often, has lost all interest in reading, and most things he once loved. Negative on all subjects, angers easily, and blames me for anything that doesn't go right. I don't get a good nights sleep, and he wants to know where I am at all times.

It's a hard one to answer because each case, each person is different but in general I think when you start asking if it might be time and how you will know when it is, it's probably time to start doing the research and finding the right facility. It can take time to get them into the place of your choice sometimes and by the time you get all those ducks in order my guess is you will know it's time. The other side of this is that the process of finding and getting a place in MC I think will include professionals making assessments about whether or not they think it's time for that person to enter MC so you will have those added opinions as well. So based on your question, it's probably time to start the process and at some point during that process the time will present it's self and come to you somewhat naturally if that makes sense (I'm not sure how to better explain this). Good luck!

I do not know but wish you the best. I just want everyone to know that my dear Mama went to heaven on July 24th. Sorry I had to use your post I forgot how to get back on mine to post this. She went peaceful in my sister and my arms. No death rattle just a two deep breaths and she was gone. That was on a Tuesday her last words to me was on Sunday before that she said she was sorry she never held me much and I got in bed with her and put my arms around her and said your holding me now Mom. I asked her what she wanted me to pray for in church and she asked me to pray for God to take her soon. She passed two days later very peaceful. Good luck and prayers with your loved one. XO

hi can you describe a bit on what you are having to deal with?

I read you are dealing with alzheimers. and this is very difficult for sure.

its so hard, that it could end up making your own health suffer.

if you feel burned out and doing everything yourself, then it may be time to get some help.
