Life is short and death inevitable so I was surprised to see on a headstone. She was all a wife and mother ought to have been.
Ought, OUGHT? I would have come back and haunted till all eternity whoever had the bright idea of putting that on my headstone.
I am going to be cremated so no headstone for me but I did think that if I were to have one it would be something like.
Here rests the phoenix who rose time and again from the ashes but fell to the cold heart of the state.
(Remember Im a Brit and I am not criticising US)
Or possibly the most likely one - I told you she would be the death of me
What would you have on your headstone?
the s*it has hit the fan " .
"Gone to the big Mall in the sky"
"Shoe collection in the next two plots"
"Took her recipes with her because she never wrote them down"
I'LL BE RIGHT BACK
(So don't throw my paperback books!)
Safe at last on Abraham's breast
Which may be nuts for Maryanne
But is certainly rough on Abraham.
May reincarnation be a figment of a human's imagination
No way do I want to come back to this earth under any circumstances! I'd rather hang out on the clouds with you.
Come down and see me sometime?
OK ...when I said over my dead body...
Or, maybe have one of those motion detectors in the stone and whenever someone passes by, have a recording of my voice play ... lol
Angel
"I will not be right back after this message"
-Merv Griffin
Jack Lemmon
In....
(and yes, that's all there is on the stone....)
"There goes the neighborhood"
-Rodney Dangerfield
"That's All Folks..."
-Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny & many other Looney Toons)
"I am ready to meet my maker. Whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter."
-Winston Churchill
As for mine....I guess I haven't thought that far ahead yet, but I am thinking that I will follow my parents' example, since I've spent so much time caring for both throughout their later lives, and be cremated, and my ashes spread in the same place. So no epitaph for me, though I'd kind of love to write my own obit and let certain family members know just how difficult this caregiving gig was without any help!
Me too, I love the bench idea. If I were to have a tombstone, it would have to read: "She is not here...".
All dressed up with no place to go........
Never mind Care Skills...Care Kills
Headstone could read:
"Ckick on Like this"

"You are left behind, ha ha ha,ha ha!"
Returning now to the brat thread. Sorry.
(or I could get geeky and have my dates followed by :wq)
