So sorry, Bridger.

Same thing for my cousin in D.C.

He is seeing a pulmonologist now.

I feel for him. He lives alone. Never married.

EB,

You’re very welcome. I am so glad you got it.

I hope the majority of people get it.

bridger I am so sorry about your hub. I have ME/CFS/FM which, apparently, long hauler Covid resembles but without lung issues. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. There is research into long-hauler and hopefully something useful will come from that soon and also treatments. Meanwhile, he needs lots of rest.

EB - glad it went well.

Bridger, sorry to hear about your DH’s long covid. There is so much of this in the UK too, and various support groups have sprung up where sufferers can share stories and advice. I am hoping that as more research is done, there will be the right kind of help for sufferers. It sounds horribly debilitating. On a positive note, DH and I will get our first jabs on Sunday morning. It can’t come soon enough and I am quite emotional about it already!

My mother this morning called me a dear woman and smiled at me. How lovely to start the day and I am thankful.

I was in the ER two separate times on Wednesday, 3/10 for dizziness, elevated BP - second time, hubby had to carry me out of bed. Couldn't move a muscle. Had multiple blood works out of both arms, chest xray, head CT and COVID test (because second time I went I had 101° fever.) Little fluid on lungs - they said not concerning. I feel exhausted.

Bridger, sorry to hear about your husband. He contracted the virus when volunteering at a hospital? New York?

Your cousin, too, NHWM.

Llama, sorry to hear you are not feeling well.

Winter storm warning. NHWM, your daughter will find out what a lot of snow is! She needs to stock up. This may keep people in for a few days with roads difficult to negotiate. The idea is to stay off roads so that road crews can get them cleaned up. Side streets do not get much attention.

Report

Yes, Glad - that's right - NeedHelpWithMom's daughter should stock up due to the impending snow storm.

Struggling with a sudden family crisis. DH came home from work last night having put in a routine phone call to his mum, who’s been feeling a bit unwell recently. Turns out she is being moved to a hospice in the next few days for end of life care, with a couple of weeks left, maximum. She has liver failure (not an alcoholic) and cancer has returned, to her bones this time. Such a shock as no real symptoms. DH not thinking properly so I’m having to do that for him. His natural instinct was to jump in the car for the 4 hour drive to his mother’s, but he has his first COVID jab on Sunday morning, so I’m persuading him to get that first before he goes. I can’t believe this is happening. So unexpected, such a shock and just when we felt we were about to emerge from a year of COVID into some kind of normality. I hope neither of us have a bad reaction to the jab, as he has the upheaval of whatever next week brings, and I will be home alone for the week.

Chriscat, I am so sorry to hear about your Mil. I agree with you. Your DH should get his shot on Sunday first and then go see his mother. Sometimes when they move to hospice everything happen so fast. My mother had a stroke on a Tuesday and on Wednesday put on end of life care and on a Friday passed away back in October. Sometimes it just happens so fast without any warning. But please try and get him to get his shot first.

Im getting my shot on Saturday afternoon. It’s the first dose. I’m 59 but I have asthma and a doctors note.

Good luck with everything. Big hug to you!

Elaine, thank you for your kindness. My DH managed to get his jab brought forward by 24 hours, so has just had it and is now on his way to see his mother. He got to the vaccination centre, explained the situation and the clinical lead there got him in straight away instead of tomorrow. I'm really moved by their compassion at this time, when they are so busy and working under such pressure. Good luck with your jab today. Mine is tomorrow morning...
