I am confused. You say in all caps "and I absolutely DID make the statement!!!"
Did you makes it? I think yes?
Or did you not make it?

I think she just forgot the "n't".

She is correct, this is not her original post. She was asking about Lewy Body. Why would the Administrator change it to "Sporatic dementia" I have never heard of this. Do we maybe have a hacker?

Well, my DH would state emphatically that I have this--when what I have is chemo-fog-brain. Can't find words to always make coherent sentences--annoying as humbling at the same time.

It has now been changed again.

Does anyone know who owns this site now?

Lots of changes have occurred in the last several months.

I have heard of chemo fog but this is the second time in the last few days someone has complained about their header being changed. I have belonged to this group for years and have never noticed a header being changed and there have been a lot that should have been to make them clearer.

It's owned by A Place for Mom. You can reach the admins by scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on About Us.

The administration here changed the title of the very first post I ever made here, and I was glad of it, because the state of mind I was in when I posted was - shall we say - agitated. I thought the admin did a very admirable job of summarizing my question in one concise sentence, which I think brought more "traffic" to my question, which in turn got me quick, helpful advice.

I don't think it was done to "mess" with me; I think admin is often trying to make things a little clearer. I really don't believe there is evil intent to these changes.

Arimethea33,

Having your words changed would make anyone wonder.
However, the Admins have a right to edit at their discretion. Until now, I was supportive of their work.

This happened to my post. I think that it shows there is some unnecessary EDITING going on. See this:

[The original question that I posted was:
"Can you post something positive in 25 words or less?"
It was posted under "Questions".

The Admin changed the topic to "Discussions", but changed it back to "Questions" when that caused the responses to be out of order, then causing comments to not make sense. The Admins comments correcting that have now been deleted.

The topic has now been changed back to "Discussions".
The title has been changed to:
"Can you get out a positive thought in 25 words or less?" ]

However, I think that it may not be the Admins changing things in a thoughtful manner as before (1-2 years ago).

Something is awry.

Notsodpgood

But this change makes so sense. She asked a direct question concerning Lewy Body and it gets changed to Sporadic Dementia?

Good question JoAnn.

I hope that the original staff of Aging Care moderators are still there.

Where is the ACCM?

In reading Sendhelp's post I am wondering if the person changing this is of a foreign decent. I know when something is a scam from overseas because of the way the message is worded. Reread the change made to Send help. This is not a person who was raised in the US. We don't talk this way. Now Arimethia's change makes sense. Lewy Body can be sporadic.

Hi all,

Just chiming in to assure you that there's no hacker afoot and our moderators are based in the U.S.!

Arimethea33, I'm sorry you did not approve of the edits to your question. It has already been changed back.

Notgoodenough, thank you for your kind words. You're spot on. We strive to preserve members' original posts, but edits to questions and discussions are sometimes necessary for clarity, length, spelling and grammar. I think many of you would agree that a concisely worded question or discussion topic is more likely to receive answers or comments. We respect your valuable time, so we moderate in a way that (hopefully) enables members to decide at a glance which posts they want to interact with and facilitates quick responses to OPs who are seeking advice and support.

Our intention is to make as few edits as possible while also driving engagement, but this isn't an exact science. Since more than one person is responsible for moderating several times a day, 7 days a week, there will be a certain degree of variation in how this role is carried out. We're also human and do make mistakes!

Sendhelp, I can't speak to the way your positive thoughts post was moderated last year, but I did apologize for unintentionally scrambling the order of posts when changing a question to a discussion here: https://www.agingcare.com/questions/going-to-the-doctor-in-2022-473248.htm

Lastly, BarbBrooklyn is correct—AgingCare is owned by A Place for Mom.

Hopefully this offers some clarity on the moderating process. We do our best to ensure that AgingCare is a safe space where family caregivers can give and receive advice and support. Moving forward, the best way to address questions/concerns is by messaging this account or using the contact us form on this page: https://www.agingcare.com/aboutus

Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Thank you AgingCareCM!
You are right, you referenced the post that you had edited, placing it back to questions for me.
I was so appreciative at the time.

Thanks for clarifying.

So glad there are no hackers modifying our comments.
