I am 73 year old morbidly obese female. I have both Non-operable bone on bone knees. The doctors say I am too high risk. I live in my daughters town house and the bath/shower are upstairs. There is a halff bath downstairs. I also have my bedroom downstairs. I am low income making only $12.000 */- social security a year. I need assistance with paying for a chair lift for stairs or installing a shower in the half bath downstairs. I have to practically crawl or scoot backwards up the stairs. I am getting worse all the time and doubt if I will be able to make it up to the bath in a few months. I have no way of paying for this and I just don't know what to do. Please advise. Thank you.

Find Care & Housing
First you need to know if the townhouse association will allow those kind of modifications. Then your daughter, who owns the townhouse, has to get a home improvement loan to pay for them. She may also have to carry additional liability insurance for having a lift on the premises.
