Find Care & Housing
Ella, the vast majority of grown children do not get paid for taking care of a parent... unless the parent can pay you from their own retirement fund. If your Mom can budget to pay you, you will need to create an employment contract.

Now, if your Mom cannot budget to pay you, then see if your Mom can qualify for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Every State runs their own Medicaid program which is taxpayer funded. Most States will pay you, but don't be surprised if the pay is minimal wage for a few hours per week. You can check to see if there are other Medicaid programs that could benefit your Mom.
