My father is still mobile around his home with a walker but he needs supervision and help with toileting from an aide so I am free to run errands. Care is expensive. Just wondering if Medicare helps cover some of the cost.

Sorry, Medicare doesn't cover this type of cost.

You can check with Medicaid [different from Medicare] to see if your Dad could qualify for the program. Depending on your State and what programs are available, the State could send in an Aide for a few hours each week.

Sooner, my Dad was a fall risk so he couldn't stay by himself, so he hired caregivers to help him out during the day. Dad didn't know how to even make himself a sandwich. I know, it can become very expensive. Dad had saved for this type of "rainy day" expense.

Eventually my Dad decided to move to Independent Living at a senior complex which made live easier for him. Then later on-to Assisted Living. These places were far cheaper then having around the clock caregivers coming to his house, and he really liked being around people of his own generation.
