Patient is 92, female, wears Depends. On a walker from 2 broken hips and although we exercise and walk as much as she will permit she still sits many hours per day. There is no break down or pressure wounds but she complains of "soreness" on her bottom. It is not red but I understand what she is saying since I worked behind a desk 12 hrs a day and sitting on folds in my clothing all day made me sore as well. I know her skin is delicate and the fabric rubs her.

Find Care & Housing
Perhaps you can find a fairly thick memory foam cushion for her chair. The cushion will relieve a lot of the pressure points. Loose clothing can help, too.

A layer of the "egg crate" type of foam on top of her cushion might be comfortable.

Well, we do that already. My patient is also a hypochondriac and she drives us crazy. Her skin is fine but I do understand what she's saying. She is a VERY lucky woman who is finacially able to have anything she needs or wants and a family happy to provide. I just didn't know if someone might have the 'magic' answer for this. LOL. No matter what we do, she will still complain and say that its raw and bleeding practically.
