I don’t know what to do or what will happen. My father is in a facility in another state. We text on a daily basis and they’re not productive texts. Mostly how he hasn’t gotten his meds or food and for me to get ahold of his social worker about this. The allegations are false. I investigated it. Anyways, I received a phone call from his social worker yesterday and was told that he has been very verbally abusive to the staff-cussing and calling them names, including racist names and that he will not stop. She said that she’s calling for an emergency appointment with a psychiatrist which I was ok with but wanted to be part of the visit. My question is, what will they do if he doesn’t stop? He’s on Medicaid and is in a facility that primarily takes Medicare & Medicaid.

I guess that there are circumstances, and they will be enumerated in the facility paperwork and contracts, under which a resident can be asked to be placed in some other type of care, or leave this facility, but this sounds more to me like a case where some medications for calming anxiety would be appropriate. This sounds like a fearful demented person completely out of control of himself, and very anxious.
