Find Care & Housing
This might seem unrelated, but there is a thread about respite care going on:
https://www.agingcare.com/questions/get-an-elder-care-provider-for-myself-172841.htm

Although it sounds unrelated, it has lots of tips for how to get people for home health care and also to get the cost defrayed, if you would need that.

Yes, I think from what you are talking about you would definitely benefit from the assistance of a non-medical caregiver.

I recommend using an agency to find a caregiver because sometimes going through individuals can pose some difficulties. ie: cancelling at the last minute and no one to cover, not sure of the caregiver's background, etc.

I would call and interview several agencies. Ask them:
1. Are your caregivers screened?
2. What training do your caregivers have? How much experience?
3. How do you select your caregivers? Where do you find caregivers?
4. What if I am not satisfied with the caregiver you send me?
5. Do you send the same caregiver or rotate caregivers?
6. What are your charges?
7. What is your policy should I have a complaint?
