I will be 90 next year. Today my mind, health, income are all o.k. I do not have any functioning relatives. For rental, medical, bank, etc. I need to list a"Whom to contact in an emergency." I contracted an elder law attorney for POA, made a testament and signed a living will, but the law office itself has nobody for "guardianship" in case of need and suggested a professional guardian and may refer me to a professional guardian. I guess they would "stand-by" and "spring into action" when the need arrived. Let me read your suggestions, advice, information.

You need a fiduciary not a guardian.

Ask your law firm about that. Ours has them on staff and they will be stepping in for one of us if it is ever required.

We have a certified elder law attorney that is part of a largish law firm to ensure we won't be out on a limb in the event something happens to our attorney.

Yes, unfortunately. It is named here in SW Florida after a leader of the Confederacy. It should be named after Thomas Edison who spent some of his winters in Fort Myers. Edison, one of the truly great men of human history !
