Is this a person you have hired or through an agency?
Some agencies have rules about what an employee can accept (do all employees follow the rules...no)
If this is a private hire the options are more open.
What can you afford?
$25.00? Cash or gift card
A days pay?
A weeks pay?
Do not put yourself in a bad position financially to give a gift.
No matter how they have been hired a very thoughtful letter or note expressing your appreciation to the care that they have shown is always welcome. It can be used as part of a reference when the person is looking for another job or a better work assignment. If the person is working for an agency a copy of the letter to the employer would be nice as well.

If you can afford to double their pay, do it. Give it in cash, too. These folks do NOT get paid enough, especially if they're through an agency, which takes a hefty chunk.

A good caregiver is worth their weight in gold!

Be as generous as you can 😊.
