Some Goodwill, OfferUp, and Salvation Army’s sell used ones that are refurbished.

Please remove your name from your post, we are all anonymous here. Does your mother have Medicare? If so, ask her doctor to write a prescription for a wheelchair and it will be covered.

If you are not in the USA, look in thrift shops where wheelchairs are usually plentiful. Or on your local buy/sell site for items, we have Craigslist.

Good luck.

You can also try your local emergency station, in my area people often donate to them, Churches, even food pantrys may have some ideas.

Before you buy anything check with and occupational therapist (OT) to asses her needs, they should also know what kinds of benefits may be available to help cover at least part of the cost.

You can order a basic one on Amazon and have it delivered in a day or two. However will she need something more elaborate for safety? What kind of medical care is your mom receiving? You can talk with her doctor or any other medical professional who she sees to get something suitable for her long-term

Call your local counsel on aging or social services and ask if there is a community closet. This is where people donate medical supplies. When I did this for my mom, iI was looking for a small wheelchair. I was on the MA and CT border and called around to 5 towns. They all had community closets. I now am in SC and the closet is in the county. You might even find shower chairs and over the toilet commodes

I think medicare would help with the cost of a walker or wheelchair if her doctor orders it. Not sure, but maybe check on that.
