UTI made my 82 year old mom into a helpless person. After a stay in the hospital she recovered completely. As she ages and gets sick again & again it just knocks them down a little bit at a time till they are just a shell of what they have been. Growing old can be a bitter journey to watch.

Have you spoken to her doctor? When you will she recover, do you mean "is she dying" or do you mean "will she get back to her previous level of functioning"?
