Can POA tell her she can't visit if mom isn't doing well that day? She is failing, sleeps a lot and is pain. We're in Wisconsin.

If mom sleeps during repeated visits from sister, maybe sister will understand that she doesn’t need to visit. Let sister visit and experience the consequences.

I think the best thing you could try to do is understand how darn difficult this all is for all of you and maybe try to understand each other.

My family has fallen apart because of caregiving. There are a lot of emotions going through this, and constantly, slowly loosing pieces of your mom.

It's like watching your children do there first, first time sitting up , ECT ... Now we are watching are loved ones go through are last , and it is hell for all of you.

Maybe you can work together on that heck your going through. And understand the pressure you are all going through.

I just hate to hear of all these family issues, we hear about.

And I will say if my brother ever stopped me from seeing mom i would get a lawyer.

My older sister has POA over medical decisions. Actually she has quite a bit of power with regarding medical . My main question is can POA get into trouble if she doesn't allow family to visit mom

I'm sorry I'm not sure if I'm understanding the questions right.

Do you have POA or your sister?

As far as I know , I don't think the POA has that much power

She is allowed to see mom . Problem with sister is says she will be there to visit and then is a no show or cancel . Her major problem is she has no control over situation with mom and likes to make it about herself . She's even nurse who works with dementia patients. One time she had mom she never made sure mom took her morning it night pills that have to do with her heart and others problems . Just wondering I guess what we can do

Ok now I get it, Im just wondering about something, I'm not POA my brother is, and I'm not a nurse, but I do have quite a bit of knowledge and I get extremely frustrated when my POA brother says mom doesn't have dementia, when it's so obvious to me, and sometimes my frustration comes out wrong.I also did get very frustrated, having no power. Now I see what a gift that was.

May I ask why one of her children is not allowed to see her mom? If mom is able to make her wishes known, is this what she wants?
