My sister is taking charge of all the finances. Her name and my mom's name is on the checking and savings account but not mine. There's a living trust stating 50/50 if my mom passes. Can she change the living trust without my knowledge?

I understood that joint accounts may have survivors rights and would not be part of the trust estate. Don't be surprised if those accounts are not part of your inheritance.

I went through this same situation with my four siblings, and mother's irrevocable trust gave each of us a share of the estate, however, when it came to medical issues and financials, my one sister had POA and that was that. You can ask your sister about issues, but she doesn't have to tell you, and no you should not be able to change a living trust once it is set up by your mother. Ask your sister for a copy and if it was filed with the Probate Court that is a public record. Family relationships can be very nasty when it comes to money.

Your Mom is the only one who can change the trust. It would never hold up in a court of law if your sister tried to do it as it would look coerced. I think?

The fact is that it is your Mom's money and she will allocate to her discretion.
