Does your mom live with you or elsewhere? With all her medical issues, surely she has a regular physician. The dr's office should be able to refer you to professionals for dietary advice, ie: the dietician mentioned by Toni. I'm surprised she hasn't already had a dietary consult by now.

I would suggest contacting the American Diabetic Association---or a certified diatrician...or a local meal site. where they prepare meals that will adress various medical needs.

There are so many resources available online. There is a site called diabetesactnow.org through the American Diabetes Association and a site that has legitimate medical advice and even recipes called drgourmet.com.

You are very wise to look for information so that you can ask specific informed questions of your mom's doctor. Let them know that you have done your homework and want to work with them to help her manage her condition. Many times that small step will make all the difference in getting the most out of every appointment.

Good luck, diabetes requires consistant daily attention. You are a great daughter !
