I'm about to be evicted from a regular apt bc of inability to catch up on 3 months back rent. I'm 62, female, single and competent. I received SSI and retirement SS monthly. Both add up to $750. a month. I have no family to help in any way. I went to aoa.gov where I read what it's about but don't know what to do now. I called an 888 number and was told to type aoa.gov in the question bar and that would lead me to senior, low income places near me. Well, it didn't. Basically just information on what certain terms meant. I need specific help in the area of senior, independent living, low income in southern calif for myself. I need it now. I don't want to go on another site that just keeps looping or doesn't take me to places near where I live.

Find Care & Housing
Your best bet is to contact your local Council on Aging and ask them if they have a list of low income senior housing. Go to the blue bar near the top of the page, click on CAREGIVER SUPPORT, now click on "Find Agencies on Aging", find your State, find your County.

Social security and retirement only come to $750 a month? You simply can not afford so cal. Renting a room in a house is more than that here. Perhaps move to another state with more affordable housing. Or try calling and telling them you don't understand the computer site.
