The VA will provide only one so I am considering purchasing the manual one so if we ever need more, then we can get the electric one provided later. The therapist showed us videos so I have not seen either in real life. Using the slings with the electric one seem like such a hassle.
I thought maybe Medicare would help with the manual but so far I have not gotten a clear answer but it appears to be no they won't. Has anyone gotten a manual Sit-to-Stand with Medicare helping pay?
We then picked out a Lazy-Boy powered recliner on sale. We didn't get heat or massage in the chair, just a basic unit. I'm thinking it was in the $500 range on sale. It does a decent job with standing assistance and it's a darn good recliner that can be used for sleeping in a more upright position.
